A clump forming exotic perennial with large striped red, pink, yellow and green leaves. Orange flowers. |

Performs best in full sun, but will tolerate partial shade. Will tolerate a range of soils but will perform best in a deep fertile soil. It will tolerate poorly drained areas. Avoid windy locations as the large soft leaves can be damaged. Plant 50cm apart in garden beds. Can be planted closer together in containers. Containers should be minimum 50-80cm diameter to promote optimal plant growth and size. True leaf colour will not be attained until temperatures exceed 15ºC. Enjoys frequent watering to perform at its best. |
Care:
|
Will die down over winter in cool areas, however it can be cut back any time to force new growth. Dig and divide to maintain size and shape. Cut back foliage to 10cm in height in late autumn. In spring, use a handful per plant of slow-release fertiliser. |
